i can overcome most any phrase on the job application except that pesky must own vehicle thing. maybe i should stop applying for food delivery jobs. makes me chuckle hollis. thank you.
Great! You’re funny, and poignant ! You made me think… Reminds me of another situation I heard about once… EVERYONE WANTS TEACHERS TO TEACH AND MAKE OUR KIDS GREAT, BUT NO ONE WANTS TO PAY THEM ENOUGH SO THEY CAN BUY A CAR OR HAVE BUS FARE TO GET TO THE SCHOOL… that’s a tad of an exaggeration, but I think you get the point…what do you think? Thank you.
I agree, and I think the state of the entire music industry is like that (there’s a really awesome Oatmeal comic about that, in fact). Bars will do bands the “favour” of “letting” them play there, but won’t pay them–doing gigs is usually money OUT of your pocket! People want to listen to music constantly on their Ipods, but the majority won’t pay $3 for their friends’ new EP–$3 isnt even enough to cover half the costs of producing something! Teaching is actually your most lucrative option but it’s hard to get started without studio space.
I think I’m preaching to the converted here, though, but it is a favourite subject for me to rant on, being a musician who has to work other, crappy jobs to eat.
Your title made me laugh; almost more than the drawing. Both good, though.
I have border collies, and a golden…and it’s pretty accurate. She’s loving, but definitely not the brightest :p
Yes, but aren’t Golden Retrievers GORGEOUS! Used to have a female many, many moos ago named Arrow (after the Harry Nilsson song: Me and my Arrow from his album The Point). Regardless, I love cartooning (not that I can draw) and enjoy your work. Go, you good thing! LOL. David.

Thanks for sharing my comic!! And yeah, I don’t foresee a vehicle in the next decade of my life and it really narrows stuff down for sure!
